About Dr. Marcie Balch, Ph.D., C. Psych.

Dr. Marcie Balch received her undergrad in psychology from Queen’s University in 1998 and her PhD from the University of New Brunswick in 2015. She was matched to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax for her PhD Residency and has been here ever since. Dr. Balch is a Clinical Psychologist and the Professional Practice Leader for Psychology at the IWK. Her clinical work involves assessing and treating children, youth, and families through outpatient community mental health.

In addition to this, she does part-time private practice with adults through Thrivespace one evening per week, helps supervise PhD students as an Associate with Dalhousie University, and teaches part-time at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. In her personal time, she is a national volleyball referee. Most importantly, she loves enjoying her house on the lake with her husband and two golden retrievers.

When families understand, everything changes. You don't have to figure this out alone.
