Helping You Understand and Manage Attention-Related Challenges
At Artemis, we specialize in providing comprehensive evaluations for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults. ADHD is a demonstrated Neurodivergence difference in the way the brain functions compared to individuals without the disorder. Our goal is to offer sound diagnosis, clarity and practical recommendations to help you or your loved one navigate the complexities of attention-related difficulties in school, at work, and at home.
Why Choose an ADHD Assessment?
ADHD can affect many areas of life, including:
- Focus: Trouble staying on task or shifting between tasks. Difficulty listening in conversation, meetings or lectures. Feeling the need to move or fidget frequently.
- Organization: Not planning ahead, getting caught up in details, having great ideas but no follow-through, underestimating the time needed to accomplish tasks. Losing things, leaving messes.
- Processing: Trouble concentrating on tasks, conversations, meetings, or lectures. Struggling to put in consistent effort to complete tasks. Inability to sit still for long periods.
- Emotional Regulation: Frequent mood changes. Difficulty managing frustration. Becoming easily over-excited or explosively angry.
- Memory: Only remembering the first or last thing to do when given a list. Difficulty completing chores or tasks with more than one step. Forgetting the task in the middle of completing the task.
- Relationships: Having a hard time keeping or making friends. Feeling awkward. Inability to perform up to a partner, friend, loved one, or superior’s expectations.
- Self-esteem: Lacking confidence. Wishing you were different.
- Finances/Life Goals: Impulsive spending. Inability to make decisions.
- Employment
- Substance Use
An assessment can help you:
- Receive appropriate accommodations in school.
- Implement appropriate accommodations in the workplace.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will an assessment always result in an ADHD diagnosis?
No. Your psychologist will review all clinical information and testing data and based on the DSM-V criteria, will determine if the findings support or do not support a diagnosis of ADHD.
Will this assessment support accommodations for school or work?
Yes, the results can be used to help advocate for accommodations, but we recommend discussing your needs during the consultation.
What age groups do you work with?
We provide assessments for children (6+), teens, and adults.
Will other diagnoses be found in the ADHD Assessment?
ADHD often presents with other diagnoses, called comorbidities. In the clinical interview, your psychologist will determine if enough criteria is present to assess for other potential comorbid concerns, such as Anxiety or Depression.
Does the assessment cover ADD?
ADD or Attention Deficit Disorder is the “old school” name for ADHD. Today, we diagnose individuals with attentional concerns, with or without hyperactivity, with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. In the report, your psychologist will state if the presentation is Inattentive Subtype (without hyperactivity), Hyperactive Subtype (with hyperactivity), or Combined subtype (both Inattentive and Hyperactive Subtypes).
Will this assessment diagnose Learning Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder?
No. Learn more about our Learning Disability Assessments and combined ADHD & LD Assessments. Our Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessments cover ASD, ADHD, & LD.
Do you provide assessments in another language?
Not at this time. Currently, all our assessments are conducted in English and clients must be fluent in English to ensure accurate and reliable results.
What if I have joint custody of my child?
For clients under the age of majority in custody arrangements, written consent from both parents is required before the assessment process can begin.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Only if you are claiming costs through your extended healthcare plan and your provider requires a referral.
What is the cost for this assessment?
Our ADHD Assessments are $2600.
Is the cost covered by OHIP?
Unfortunately, no. However, the costs may be covered by your extended healthcare plan.
Is the cost covered by my extended health care plan?
