Psychoeducational
​Assessment

Is your child struggling in math or science?

Do they have poor handwriting?

Are they lagging behind in reading?

Can they tell you a fabulous story, but can't write it down?

Do they have to be told things numerous times before they understand what is being explained to them?

Any one of these can indicate the presence of a Specific Learning Disability such as Slow Processing Speed. A Psychoeducational Assessment can find the missing piece to complete your child's educational puzzle.

Our assessments offer an in-depth look into our client's academic strengths and weaknesses. All learning disability diagnoses are ranked for their severity, from mild to severe, giving a complete picture of our clients needs. Recommendations are given according to the Ontario governments legislation concerning accommodations (IEP) at school and in the workplace.

Recommendations are also given for interventions and accommodations that can be used in the home, giving our clients the tools they need to succeed.

Attentional (ADHD/ADD)
​Assessment

An Attentional (ADHD/ADD) Assessment will rule in or rule out the diagnosis of ADHD/ADD and will offer recommendations to assist in working with this disorder.

Our assessments offer an in-depth look into our client's attentional, emotional and social strengths and weaknesses. All ADHD diagnoses are ranked for their severity, from mild to severe, giving a complete picture of our clients needs. Recommendations are given according to the Ontario governments legislation concerning accommodations (IEP) at school and in the workplace.

Combined
​Assessment

All the pieces of the cognitive puzzle.

Combined Assessment puts together both the Psychoeducational Assessment and the Attentional (ADHD/ADD) Assessment.

If you are concerned that there are both aspects of a Specific Learning Disability and ADHD/ADD, then it is best to have them completed at the same time.

This assessment will determine if a Specific Learning Disability is present and offer recommendations for home, school and workplace accommodations. It will also determine if a diagnosis of ADHD/ADD is present and make the according medication and accommodation (IEP) recommendations.

Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment

Our Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment considers intellectual abilities, cognitive abilities, attentional abilities, and social abilities to determine if ASD is an appropriate diagnosis for the individual being assessed. ASD assessment is available for children, adolescents, and adults.
The assessment can be completed in one day. However, the testing is challenging, so some individuals may benefit from having the testing divided over multiple days.
We need to see a baseline (the minimum amount the individual can accomplish) and a ceiling (the limits of their abilities). Consider assessment akin to testing the strength of any material: we need to see the person’s limitations to make recommendations for them effectively.

Gifted
​Assessment

Is your child having trouble focusing in class because the lessons move too slowly?

Have your child's teachers recommended a gifted assessment to determine if moving your child ahead a grade would be in their best interest?

A Gifted Assessment will determine if your child would benefit from being placed in a gifted setting.

It takes about 2-3 hours to complete our Gifted testing.

The fee is $1140.00.

​A 30 minute feedback appointment will take place about 2-3 weeks after the testing day. You will receive a report with your child's scores and the psychologists interpretation and recommendation regarding placement.

Learning Disability Screen

Unsure if a full assessment is necessary?

Are their learning issues only temporary?

Is it just online learning?

Maybe it is just a lack of motivation?

Committing to a full Psychoeducational (Learning Disability) assessment is costly and time consuming. Artemis created the Learning Disability Screen as an affordable way to rule in or rule out the necessity of a full assessment.

Our screening takes only 2 to 2 ½ hours to complete and you receive a short, 3-page report within 2 weeks.

This report will not diagnose any disability. However, it will present your child’s scores in reading, writing, arithmetic, processing speed, visual-spatial organization and will note any attentional (ADHD/ADD) challenges experienced during the screening.

The report will determine if your child’s scores necessitate a full assessment or if the issues they are having in school are unrelated to a learning disability.

Learning Disability Screen is $600.00

Fees associated with the screening can be applied to the cost of a full assessment, provided the full assessment is completed within the three (3) months following the screen.
